Holiday Inn, Dubuque IA


The Staff were rather friendly and helpful. I showed up to check in at 11:00AM. Check inn is not till 3:00PM the staff checked to see if there were any rooms available so we could check in early and there were not. He did however give me the wifi code so I could sit and get some work done. He was also friendly one of my traveling companions was not a IHG member and he went ahead and signed him up and explained the benefits. He also had suggestions of things that could be done around town.
The room I had was a Single King room. It came with a Keurig and 4 pods along with some tea, sweetener, creamer, and some stir sticks. The T.V. is a 50in Samsung I was surprised by the size of the T.V. you will have no issues seeing what your watching from bed. The chair in the room was soft while firm with a overhead lamp and a side table. If you are a book work and like to read in a chair it gives you plenty of lighting as well as a place to set your drink.
The restaurant was open at noon I did not check there business hours but was surprised as a lot of hotel restaurants do not open until check in time or shortly after. They do have a small selection of beers on tap but were willing to let me sample a few as they’re mostly local crafts. The food selection is average and I had a flatbread. It was not so great I just thought the bread was not as crispy as I normally like it.
There is a game room for kids its a like a small arcade with quarter machines. The Game Room however does not have a change machine so bring quarters or hope the front desk has plenty on hand. The pool is rather small and does not have a Jacuzzi. It does however have plenty of towels. I did not get in the pool so I am unsure if it is heated but the way it is set up anybody walking by can stare in with out a problem.



It has several small shops and restaurant’s close by as well as a Casino that is about a 10 minute walk away. If you drive a truck larger then a F-350 then you may have trouble parking as it has a parking garage, I would also suggest not staying at this location if you are pulling a trailer of any kind unless you have practical experience doing so.

The hotel property is clean and well kept including the parking lot. The Hotel does not have room for parking with trucks pulling trailers unless its a small uhaul style trailer. When you pull into the property there is not parking in the front of the hotel except paid parking. The parking is off to the side of the hotel. The property is also overlooking the Mississippi River. The check inn process was quick and friendly. I was told were everything they offered was located as well as the times for the attached restaurant. The lady that checked me inn engaged in small talk while she was going through the check inn process and made me feel welcome. The hotel has 4 elevators and only certain elevators go to certain floors. She told me where the two elevators that went to my floor where located and which one was closest to my room. Drury Inn and Suites Hayti MO

This hotel is just off Exit 9 on Interstate 55, and is about a 5 minute drive from the town of Hayti, MO. There isn’t much to do in the area within walking distance. There are, however, a gas station and a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel offers free coffee and soda all day, and they fire up the popcorn machine during and after check in. For breakfast, they offer a small selection of eggs and meats. They also offer a small assortment of juice during breakfast hours only. Dinner, or as they call it, “Kickback,” starts at 5:30 and lasts till 7:00. During this time, they offer a variety of food, including salad, nachos, chili, hot dogs, and soft-shell tacos/burritos. During my second night, they had penne pasta in addition to the same items listed above (minus the soft shell tacos/burritos). Holiday Inn Express and Suites (Golden Valley)

When I arrived at the hotel, one of the first things I noticed was that the property was clean. They did not have trash in the parking lot or stuffed into the landscaping. The grass was well kept, along with all the plants. The parking lot had two entrances, but it was a little cramped for larger vehicles. When I walked into the lobby, there were no other customers inside. So when I noticed they had somebody at the front desk waiting to check people in, I was rather surprised. I arrived at 10:00am, and they were able to accommodate me by providing an early check in. The lady gave me no attitude about my arriving early; she was pleasant during the whole check in process. She was able to suggest places to eat nearby (nothing within walking distance, as the area seems to be a business park). When I arrived at my room, it was clean. Housekeeping did not leave any remnants of the previous guest, as I have seen in the past, such as hair in the sink or stuck to the shower wall.

Days Inn St Cloud MN

When I arrived the first thing I noticed is the property is not taken care of very well. The parking lot has several pot holes and the cement appears to have been damaged by a snow plow and never fixed. The grass is also over grown and not well maintained. Another issue I have is the security doors are broken and do not require a key card for entry. As you walk through the hallways you can see that they have fixed holes and not repainted so there are patches of drywall mud. When I went inside to check in there is a sign that says it is 100% smoke free property. Based off the smell of the hallways I would say this is a new policy. The staff at the front desk are very friendly even with the rather rude lady in front of me. The check in process was very quick and painless. They explained how to get to my room and what the best entrance was with confidence. The gentleman told me about everything they offer as well as times and locations.
